A text is always better than a call because we will need certain information to get started.

Please be as detailed as possible.

TEXT INFO NEEDED

1) Pet/person name

2) Detailed description

3) Location last seen

4) Suggested search area

ON OUR WAY

After we get your info we will respond to let you know the outcome once we have checked any airspace restrictions around the location. If it's all good we will be on our way to help.

SIGHTINGS

Sightings is the best information you can gather for a drone search. If you do get a call of a sighting, respond as soon as possible and try to get as much information as possible. Try to carry pen and paper to write it down. It can be hard to remember details when you are distressed

*Ask which direction the animal was traveling and if it was walking along the road, sidewalk, or going through yards*

About Pittsburgh Drone Pet Search and Rescue

As we all know the first couple of hours in any search and rescue situation are the most critical, and the most important time to act quickly in order to achieve the best outcome possible. A lost person or pet is a very vulnerable thing at this stage, so it’s always important to apply as many resources as possible in order to find the subject safe and well.

Pittsburgh Drone Pet Search and Rescue would like to offer our drone services to any local authorities or law enforcement to aid in their search and rescue missions.

We follow all safety standards and FAA drone regulations so not every case can be accepted. But we will do our best when appropriate and within regulations to try and find your lost pet.

SEARCH AREAS

We are based in Upper St.Clair, so our service area is limited to a 40-mile radius that covers parts of Allegheny County, Washington County, Butler County, Beaver County, and parts of Ohio. Beyond those areas and under certain circumstances we can make exceptions depending on the emergency.

The reason we are limited to a particular radius is solely based on the time it takes to get to the location. Unfortunately, we cannot make every request because of the critical nature of time for each search and rescue case. We are also abiding by every FAA drone law which means we are unable to fly in restricted areas.

"When I say, God is good, I do mean so damn good! not a single sighting in Four days, no food and water, stuck in a ravine, cold nights, Sammi beat the odds that were stacked up against him! 18 years old, blind, deaf with arthritis! We had the most amazing woman with a drone come in, and we wanted her to focus on the patch of woods closest to the house! We actually seen him on the drone within minutes and she zoomed in. I could see him breathing, and my heart stopped. I do not think I have stopped crying since! My heart is exploding. When I say it is like finding a needle in a haystack, I do mean that! We chose those woods, when he could have went in any direction! For her to pick hup that quickly was just outstanding! It truly was a miracle! I think the warm weather today kept him going. He was extremely weak and shivering when I got to him. We bundled him up in a blanket and surprised his owner, while she was at work! Hearts were exploding and many tears wereFlowing! I am still crying! We got him to the vet immediately and she said for an 18-year-old geriatric pup that his breathing was good, temperature was good and heart sounded good. Amazing! Thank you everybody for the shares, walks looking for him and prayers! You are all amazing.💙💙🐾🐾🙏🙏"

"What A Day!!! I pulled cameras and trap today for a pup that was just visiting camp Kon-O-Kwee so I can focus on 11 yr old Diesel, the blind dachshund missing from Harmony. Their backyard is the connoquenessing and we all know how that’s been the last few days. Theirfear was that he had fallen in. There were no sightings in 48 hrs. 😥My heart said no. I reached out to Twentytwo Oak ( Amelia ) to see if she had any time for us to put her thermal drone up and she was able to make it today! I searched for a while before she got there walking the creek bank and railroad tracks and checking under sheds and houses etc. nothing. Amelia got there and had the drone up for maybe about a half hr when she spotted him on the other side of the bridge on a bank about 5 to 10 ft above the water! Thankfully he got caught up in some brush that prevented him from going into the water! It was nothing short of a miracle! She saw him flicker his ear on the drone and we knew he was ok!!! He was much further away from the house than his owners ever thought he could get to. She kept the drone on him while we hiked down in and Jim grabbed his boy!!! So so many happy tears and hugging and I love you’s happening in the moments after!! Many neighborhood folks n friends came to visit him afterwards. They ended up having a small party celebrating his rescue! He even made one of the business boards in town welcoming him home! Everyone was so happy!!! Thank you so much for coming out Amelia!!! You’re my hero!! Welcome home Diesel!! 💙🐾💙🐾💙🐾"

WHAT IF WE CANNOT RESPOND?

In the outcome of a request we cannot proceed with due to airspace restrictions or travel distance, do NOT give up. Pittsburgh drone pet search and rescue has a network of drone pilots in several locations that could be closer to you. In the event of FAA restrictions some of the pilots may well be able to conduct a ground search to help you out. So please contact us with your info.
